Jr. Ranch Hand Program

Program Details:

Our Jr. Ranch Hand Program gives kids a hands-on and in-depth look at how to care for horses and small farm animals. They will walk away from this program having a good grasp on responsibility, what a good work ethic looks like, teamwork, self-awareness, and a sense of accomplishment. Kids will also enjoy an hour riding lesson at the end of the day!


The course runs from  9am to 2pm, 1 day a week for 4 weeks and includes a riding lesson. For ages 9+. Limit 4 students per group. No make-up days or refunds for missed classes. 


We offer this program on Tuesdays from April through October. We pause for the coldest months November through March.


Prerequisite: Has taken a minimum of 4 riding lessons with us in the past year.


Example Of What Their Day Will Consist Of:

9am: Drop off time | Team huddle | Getting prepared for the day.


9:15am: Feed some horses breakfast, clean up after feeding, water the horses, restock grain bins, and tidy up around the farm.


10am: Small Animal Care (Rabbits, Cats, Dogs, Goats, Cow, Tortoise, Chickens, and a Miniature Horse).


11am: Chore Time: Learning to mend fences, horse care, and farm care.


11:30am: Muck the horse's stalls and paddocks.


Noon: Lunch Time.


12:30pm: Odds and ends around the farm


12:45pm: Tidy up & prepare for a lesson


1pm: Riding lesson.


2pm: Pick-up time.


Spring 2026 Program Schedule:

April: Tuesdays | April 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th


May: Tuesdays | May 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th


June: Tuesdays | June 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th


Summer 2026 Program Schedule:

July: Tuesday | July 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th


August: Tuesday | August 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th

Fall 2026 Program Schedule:

September: Tuesday | September 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th


October: Tuesday | October 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th

Program Cost:

$300 | A $100 non-refundable deposit is due to hold a slot. The remaining $200 is due on the first day.

What To Bring:

•Water bottle.

•Lunch (we have a fridge and microwave).

•Snacks.

•Bag with a change of clothes. Farm work can be messy.

•Must wear jeans, pants, or leggings. NO shorts or crop tops. 

•Muck boots (or boots / shoes that can get wet and dirty).

•Work/Garden Gloves.

•Summer: Bug Spray & Sunscreen

•Please have your child dress weather appropriate and bring extra layers in the Fall and Spring for brisk mornings.

•Waiver (you can print and fill out or fill one out at drop off on the first day).

•Riding Helmet (if you don’t have one we have several).
